Contemporary distributed ledger technologies and digital assets predominantly depend on elliptic curve cryptography for core security functions. As detailed in our publication, quantum-proof cryptography offers a validated pathway toward enduring blockchain protection, ensuring sustained trust in digital economic systems within future quantum computing environments. We illustrate implementations of quantum-secure blockchain architectures and experimental quantum-resistant deployments on vulnerable existing networks. While effective solutions like quantum-proof cryptography are available, their integration requires substantial time investment, emphasizing the growing imperative for immediate action. We further propose supplementary guidance for the digital currency ecosystem to strengthen security frameworks, including avoiding public exposure of vulnerable wallet identifiers and policy considerations for addressing inactive digital assets.
